The downside of Christmas is that we get gifts that don’t really go with our religious beliefs. My family is all Catholic. I am not. I grew up in a house where Church was forced upon you and I want to give my son the opportunity to explore and find his own beliefs. So I am a guard dog when it comes to people imposing their beliefs on him. I also hate when people scare children by making them think if they are disobedient god will punish them. I try to filter out all of the bible story books and DVD’s they send. I ask them not to and they do mean well so I don’t get angry I just politely accept it, thank them and throw it away later on.
