If you are expecting or a new parent, you really really should get a baby sling. Babies get a sense of security from being held. There are two main things that provide security for an infant, being held and suckling. I used a baby sling with my son, and it has done wonders. He is very secure and independent. With a sling I was able to hold him close and still have free hands to take care of other things.
